Financial Counselling
The Zahra Foundation provides a specialist financial counselling service for women affected by domestic and family violence related debt and financial hardship.
You don’t need to be in a financial crisis to access our service. It could be as simple as a review of your finances, help finding ways to save money or support to create a family budget.
This specialist financial service is free and confidential. To make an appointment phone the Zahra Foundation Office on 08 8352 1889. (Please note: there is currently a wait of 2-3 weeks for an appointment).
So that we can support you more efficiently it will be useful for you to bring the following documentation:
- Proof of income (Centrelink and/or payslips)
- Photo identification including health care/pension concession card if possible
- Bank statements
- Current bills
- Debt collector notices or other demands
At your first appointment we will need to collect your personal details and we may ask for consent to act on your behalf
Alternatively, if you are in a financial crisis and are not able to contact us urgently, please call the National Debt Helpline 1800 007 007
Please note that we are unable to provide emergency relief.
Download the program brochure to find out more, including what to bring to your appointment:
